Frequently Asked Questions
Have a question about Fascial Stretch Therapy (FST), how it works, or what to expect? You’ll find clear answers below. If you still have a question, feel free to to contact me — I’m always happy to help.
About the Treatment
What is Fascial Stretch Therapy (FST)?
FST is a gentle, full-body treatment that works with fascia — the connective tissue that surrounds your muscles and joints. It helps restore mobility, reduce tension, and calm the nervous system — all without pain or pressure.
How is it different from massage or physiotherapy?
Massage focuses on muscles. Physiotherapy focuses on strength and rehab. FST works on fascia — which connects everything — and helps restore movement and balance across your whole body. Most clients find it deeply relaxing and more effective over time.
What does a session look like?
You’ll stay fully clothed on a comfortable treatment table. I gently guide your body through supported stretches — no cracking, pressure, or forcing. It’s calm, one-on-one, and always tailored to how your body feels that day.
What other techniques may be used during a session?
While Fascial Stretch Therapy is the foundation of each session, I may integrate other techniques to support your body more effectively:
Myofascial Release (MFR) – a gentle, hands-on technique that helps reduce fascial tension, improve circulation, and relieve pain linked to postural strain, tightness, or scar tissue.
Graston Technique (IASTM) – a tool-assisted method used to break down adhesions, reduce inflammation, and restore movement in areas affected by injuries, overuse, or restricted tissue.
What to Expect
Is it painful?
No — FST is completely pain-free. Most clients find it relaxing and say it feels like their body is “letting go” without being pushed.
What should I wear?
Wear loose, comfortable clothing — like what you’d wear to a gentle yoga class. Shorts or leggings and a t-shirt are ideal. No jeans, skirts, or anything tight.
How many sessions will I need?
Most people notice changes after the first session. For lasting results, I recommend 2–3 sessions close together, then maintenance as needed. We’ll discuss what’s right for you after your first visit.
Health Fund & Payments
Can I claim through my private health fund?
Yes. I’m registered with HICAPS under Remedial Massage. If your cover includes Remedial Massage, you may be eligible for a rebate — bring your card to your session or check with your provider.
What payment methods do you accept?
You can pay by EFTPOS, credit card or cash in the studio.
Packages & Cancellations
Are packages Available?
Yes — For clients looking to maintain progress and stay consistent, prepaid in-studio packages are available after your initial consultation.
What’s your cancellation and rescheduling policy?
Please give at least 24 hours’ notice to cancel or reschedule.
Cancellations within 24 hours are charged 50% of the full standard session fee.
No-shows are charged in full.
Frequent cancellations or reschedules may result in forfeited bookings.
